About The Position

Immaculate Conception School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Music Teacher to provide engaging music instruction to students in PreK2 through eighth grade. The Music Teacher will help students develop an appreciation for music while building age-appropriate skills in singing, rhythm, movement, instruments, performance, and music theory.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in music education, music, elementary education, or a related field.
Experience teaching music to students across multiple grade levels.
Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

Nice To Haves

Valid teaching license preferred.
Experience directing band, choir, or student performances preferred.
Ability to play piano or another accompaniment instrument preferred.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, creative, organized, and committed to helping students develop confidence, musical ability, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate music lessons for students in PreK2 through eighth grade.
Introduce students to a variety of musical styles, traditions, instruments, and concepts.
Direct and develop the school band and choir programs.
Prepare students for participation in the school’s fall, winter, and spring performances.
Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to coordinate performances, liturgies, special events, and other school programs.
Select appropriate music, organize rehearsals, and manage performance logistics.
Encourage student participation, creativity, confidence, and musical growth.
Maintain a positive, organized, and respectful classroom environment.
Assess student progress and provide appropriate feedback.
Care for and maintain musical instruments, equipment, and instructional materials.
Support the Catholic identity and mission of Immaculate Conception School through professional conduct, classroom instruction, and participation in the life of the school community.
Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
