This part-time Music Teacher position is for elementary school students in grades TK-4th, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 10:30 am - 3:30 pm. The school believes music is vital for a well-rounded education, fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons in general music, choir, recorder, ukulele, rhythm and movement, and music appreciation, as well as preparing students for assemblies and performances. Collaboration with classroom teachers and school leadership is key to creating meaningful learning experiences and supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and creative growth. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, possesses strong classroom management skills, and is passionate about inspiring young musicians.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience teaching elementary music (TK–4) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music, Education, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Experience teaching general music, choir, recorder, ukulele, rhythm & movement, and music appreciation.
  • Piano proficiency for classroom accompaniment.
  • Experience preparing students for concerts, performances, and school assemblies.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Passion for inspiring young learners through engaging, inclusive, and creative music instruction.
  • A collaborative, reliable, can-do attitude with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to support the school community.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in general music, choir, recorder, ukulele, rhythm and movement, and music appreciation.
  • Prepare students for assemblies and special performances throughout the school year.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and school leadership to create meaningful learning experiences.
  • Foster strong relationships with students and families.

  • Design the physical environment to meet the changing needs of young children.
