About The Position

Holy Cross Academy, a Preschool–8th grade coeducational Catholic school of approximately 475 students, is seeking a full-time Music Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will inspire a love of music while supporting the school’s mission of forming young men and women to be saints, scholars, and leaders in the image of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Blessed Mother. Holy Cross Academy is the parish school of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in the Diocese of Arlington. This role involves teaching general music for Preschool–Grade 6 and leading choral (Grades 5th-8th) and theatre performance programs (Grades 4th–8th), fostering creativity, musical literacy, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Requirements

• Practicing Catholic committed to Catholic education
• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music
• Proficiency in piano accompaniment
• Experience teaching elementary and middle school music
• Experience in choral direction and ensemble work
• Experience in theatre direction and choreography

Responsibilities

• Teach general music (PK3–6th grade)
• Direct school choir (Grades 5th–8th)
• Lead major performances such as Christmas concert, spring musical, class productions, and graduation programs
• Collaborate on performances with parish choirs and events such as Pueri Cantores festivals
• Provide piano accompaniment for liturgies and school events as needed
• Use diverse, age-appropriate instructional methods (singing, movement, instruments, theory, history)
• Collaborate with faculty to support school programs and mission
