About The Position

As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help grow student enrollment and support students’ continued development and enjoyment of music while contributing to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. You will partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students according to community needs, assist with customer service as needed, and build lasting relationships with students and families through frequent communication about goals and progress. The listed pay rate is $15.50–$16.50 per hour at the non-teaching rate and up to $22.90 per hour at the total teaching rate, depending on background and experience. Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Help students continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
Share students’ goals and progress frequently with students and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
