About The Position
For over 116 years, Residing Hope has provided a place where love, hope, and care transformed the lives of children and families in need. Originally established as the Florida Methodist Orphanage in 1908, Residing Hope is now a diverse ministry offering therapeutic residential care, foster care, independent living assistance, community Montessori education, and multi-county counseling services. This position is for a Music Teacher/Instructor who will prepare and implement a teaching plan to provide knowledge and instruction, fostering students' love of music.
Requirements
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Strong music background.
- Minimum of 1 year working with youth.
- Ability to pass an extensive background screening process.
- Proof of Immunizations: 2 doses- Varicella, 2 doses- MMR, 1 dose- Tdap within the past 10 years, 1 dose- Influenza during flu season (August/September through June).
- Yearly requirement of Influenza and TB testing.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement a teaching plan.
- Provide music instruction (guitar, basic piano, drums, cymbals and/or other percussion instruments) to students between the ages of 12 - 17.
- Present lessons in a comprehensive manner.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Teach proper technique.
