About The Position

Guitar Center’s Music Teacher teaches lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role helps grow student enrollment and supports each student’s continued development and enjoyment of music. The teacher contributes to a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect while providing an excellent customer experience. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, assists with customer service, and builds long-term student relationships. The role also involves communicating regularly with students and their families about progress and goals, and working in partnership with families to support each student’s learning.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area the applicant will teach.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and create a positive experience that helps build and maintain long-term student relationships.
Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or parents frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
