About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking skilled musicians and dedicated educators to teach private music lessons and inspire students. The Music Teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels. The role includes building relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates; partnering with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention; and sharing musical expertise to foster student growth. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching.

The role is part of Music & Arts, a music retailer and education provider based in Frederick, Maryland, and part of the Guitar Center enterprise. Music & Arts comprises more than 225 retail stores, more than 200 educational representatives, and more than 250 affiliate locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of music teaching experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
• Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
• 8 or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
