About The Position
Guitar Center is seeking a Music Teacher to teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The teacher helps grow student enrollment and supports students’ continued development and enjoyment of playing music while fostering a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The position works with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, and may assist with customer service to build long-term student relationships. The teacher also communicates regularly with students and families about progress and goals, building trusting partnerships with parents and embracing their knowledge of their child.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed to create a positive experience and build and maintain long-term students.
- Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships.
- Share and discuss each student's progress and goals with the student and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
