About The Position
The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role focuses on helping students grow, develop, and enjoy playing music while nurturing a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher works with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, supports customer service as needed, and builds lasting student relationships by creating a positive experience. The position also involves frequent communication with students and families about student goals, progress, and development.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships through a positive experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
