About The Position

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking passionate Music Teachers to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on students' lives by fostering their musical development. Music Teachers will guide students in developing and refining skills in elementary general music and expanding their talents into various programs such as band, orchestra, choir, musical theater, music exploration, piano, and guitar. The position involves creating an engaging learning environment, identifying and adapting instructional resources, and promoting students' social, physical, and intellectual growth. Responsibilities also include curriculum assessment, record keeping, effective communication with students, parents, and professionals, collaboration with peers, modeling professional ethics, ensuring continuous student growth, participating in training and staff meetings, and meeting professional obligations. Additionally, teachers will evaluate student capabilities, celebrate accomplishments, encourage positive behavior, and perform light physical activities as needed, including occasional travel between campuses and participation in events outside normal hours. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Pass a criminal history background check.

A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.

Responsibilities

Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
Participate in training and staff meetings.
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.
Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.
Participate in events outside of normal hours.
Other duties as assigned.
