About The Position
The Music Teacher provides music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role supports student growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music while nurturing a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, and helps provide a positive Customer experience that builds long-term student relationships. The role also involves frequent communication with students and families about progress and goals, while recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Music, Education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
- Assist with Customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships through a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships.
- Communicate each student’s progress and share students’ or parents’ goals and progress frequently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
