About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Music Teacher to teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The teacher helps increase and retain student enrollment while supporting each student’s growth, development, and enjoyment of music. The role also involves fostering a welcoming store culture grounded in integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and providing a positive customer experience. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, and works with students and their families through frequent communication and trusting relationships. Teachers share updates on student progress and goals with students and/or parents, and assist with customer service as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area the candidate will teach.

Responsibilities

Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Help students grow, develop, and enjoy playing music.
Assist with customer service and help build and maintain long-term student relationships through a positive experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and valuing parents’ knowledge of their children as music students.
Share each student’s progress and goals with the student and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
