About The Position
Guitar Center’s Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The teacher works to increase student count and support each student’s growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music while nurturing a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The role partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, and works with students and families through frequent communication and trusting relationships. Teachers also assist with customer service as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the applicant is proficient, such as bass, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families, building trusting relationships and valuing parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Communicate each student’s progress and share student and parent goals and progress frequently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
