About The Position

The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase and retain student enrollment while helping each student grow, develop, and enjoy playing music. It also supports Guitar Center’s culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The Music Teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule lessons based on community needs, assists with Customer service as needed, and builds strong relationships with students and their families through regular communication about progress and goals.

Requirements

Previous experience in Music, Education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area the candidate will teach.

Responsibilities

Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule lessons and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Assist with Customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child.
Share students’ goals and progress with students and/or parents frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
