About The Position
Zeta is seeking passionate Music Teachers to join their team and lead the next chapter of educational excellence. Zeta focuses on a combination of high academic achievement and social-emotional development, aiming to provide world-class education and foster a love for learning. The organization is expanding, currently operating schools in the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens, with plans to open new schools annually and launch their first high school in the 2026-27 school year. They are looking for individuals who are passionate about changing public education and being a change agent for children.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 1-2+ years of teaching experience
- Demonstrate strong content knowledge and passion for music education
- Passionate about our mission of providing world-class education to all students
- Bring a mindset of growth, flexibility, and openness to feedback
- Hungry and determined to not only meet your goals but surpass them
- Humble, willing to put the team’s needs ahead of your own, and committed to contributing to a collaborative work environment
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Work authorization is required (the candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.)
Responsibilities
- Execute a bold vision of excellence in music education, designing inquiry-driven, musically rigorous lessons that inspire joy, creativity, and deep engagement for all students.
- Build a vibrant, inclusive classroom culture where students develop a genuine love for music and families feel connected to a strong, welcoming community.
- Use data, student work, and research-based instructional tools to monitor progress, refine instruction, and drive student growth in musical knowledge and skill.
- Develop authentic, trusting relationships with students and families to support each child’s personal, academic, and artistic development.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and engage in ongoing professional learning, embracing feedback and coaching to continuously strengthen your teaching practice.
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives and provide instructional support as needed, ensuring music is meaningfully integrated into the broader school experience.
- Lead a high-quality after-school music program that deepens students’ passion, builds technical skill, and expands opportunities for performance and enrichment.
