About The Position
The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role focuses on growing student enrollment and helping each student continue to develop and enjoy playing music, while fostering a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher works with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, supports customer service as needed, and builds lasting student relationships through a positive experience. The role also involves frequent communication with students and families about progress and goals.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
- Partner with students and families through frequent communication, building trusting relationships, and recognizing parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.
- Communicate student progress and goals frequently to students and/or their parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
