About The Position

As a Music Teacher at Guitar Center, you will teach music lessons using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting each student’s musical growth and enjoyment. The role also involves fostering a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and providing an excellent customer experience. Pay is listed at $16.90–$20.34 per hour for non-teaching work and up to $30.14 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as bass, guitar, or ukulele.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term student relationships by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as the Music Teacher.
Share each student’s goals and progress frequently with the student and/or their parents.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
