About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking a Music Teacher to provide private music lessons and inspire students. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels, and helps them grow through musical instruction. The role includes regular communication with students and parents about goals and progress, and coordination with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The listed pay is $16.90 per hour for non-teaching work, plus $10–$20 per hour for teaching depending on background and experience. Musicians may use gig leave to take time off to perform and return to their job after a tour. Music & Arts is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of music teaching experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree (Master’s or doctoral) in Music.
• Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
• Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
