About The Position

This role involves listening to 30-90 second field recordings and completing structured annotations. Annotations include identifying instruments, tempo, key, timestamps of background events, and scene details. You will also compare paired recordings of the same song captured at different locations to identify changes. In later phases, you will review AI model descriptions of clips, marking them as correct, wrong, or invented, and providing brief written explanations. The role requires attending a paid onboarding/calibration session and a short weekly sync.

Requirements

3+ years of hands-on music or audio experience.
Strong analytical listening skills: ability to pick individual instruments out of a busy, noisy, real-world mix.
Ability to identify tempo (within a few BPM).
Ability to identify musical key (relative pitch with a reference is fine).
Comfortable with detail-oriented, repetitive annotation work in a web platform (dropdowns, timestamps, short structured notes).
Clear written English for brief, evidence-based notes.
Quality headphones.

Responsibilities

Listen to 30-90 second field recordings and complete structured annotations.
Identify instruments present in recordings.
Determine tempo and key of recordings.
Timestamp background events such as traffic, sirens, and applause.
Describe scene details.
Compare paired recordings of the same song captured at different locations and judge what stayed the same and what changed.
Review AI model descriptions of clips and mark what's correct, wrong, or invented.
Provide brief written explanations for AI model reviews.
Attend a paid onboarding/calibration session.
Attend a short weekly sync.
