About The Position
The Music Librarian Assistant supports the department’s choral program by organizing and maintaining the music library, preparing and distributing scores, and assisting with routine administrative tasks. This position helps ensure that rehearsals, performances, and daily choral operations run efficiently.
Requirements
- MWSU Student Degree Seeking
- At least an overall 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled at least part-time
- Reliability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Willingness to handle printed and digital music materials with care
- Must handle departmental information responsibly and maintain confidentiality when appropriate
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanor in working with faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to lift and transport boxes or stacks of music (up to 25 lbs)
Nice To Haves
- Music major, particularly a student pursuing a degree in choral music education.
- Familiarity with choral music and score organization
- Experience with databases, spreadsheets, or library systems
- Dependable, self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Interested in serving in the position for multiple semesters.
