About The Position
School of Rock in West Des Moines, IA is looking for a passionate and talented Drum Instructor to inspire the next generation of musicians! Requirements
- Proficient drummer with strong knowledge of various genres including rock, pop, and blues
- Ability to connect with and motivate children, teens, and adult learners
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Passion for music education and performance
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching, gigging experience in a band, and/or music instruction experience preferred
- Ability to read music or strong familiarity with rhythm notation is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging one-on-one drum lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
- Develop personalized lesson plans aligned with School of Rock's proven music curriculum
- Prepare students for live performances and seasonal shows
- Track student progress and communicate updates with parents and staff
- Collaborate with other instructors and music directors to support ensemble rehearsals
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and energetic learning environment
- Maintain and monitor proper use of drum equipment and studio space
