About The Position
Ensemble Schools is seeking a passionate music ed rep to work with local school districts and enhance their music programs on a full-time basis for Creative Music Center in Monroe, CT. This staff member will serve as the account manager and primary point of contact for local band, orchestra, and music directors in Fairfield County, CT. The desired hours for this position are 30-35 hours per week, approximately between 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with occasional weekend flexibility for seasonal recruitment opportunities.
Requirements
- Previous retail experience required (music retail preferred)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of musical instruments, accessories, and equipment
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively
- Self-starter with a passion for music and helping others
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate
- Eagerness to learn new skills and product knowledge
- High School Diploma required
- A background in Instrumental Music Education and knowledge of the function and pedagogy of multiple instruments, as well as experience playing multiple instruments, are a must.
Nice To Haves
- Degree in Music or related field is a plus
- A background in sales, recruitment, and/or administration is strongly desired but not required.
Responsibilities
- Outreach to local band and orchestra programs in schools, community arts organizations, and non-profit organizations
- Weekly visits to local school districts (must have reliable vehicle)
- Fostering and retaining relationships with the musical community in Fairfield County, CT and surrounding areas
- Community outreach in the form of “instrument try-out” and “instrument petting-zoo” events and other outreach opportunities to recruit student interest
- Provide excellent customer service, especially during peak hours with high foot traffic
- Maintain store cleanliness, merchandising, and an inviting storefront
- Process transactions and operate the cash register
- Stay up to date on product knowledge and new inventory
