About The Position

Prime Video is a leading global streaming service offering a wide selection of Movies, TV shows, and Amazon Originals in over 240 countries and territories. Amazon MGM Studios is seeking an experienced Music Contract Manager to support the Music Business Affairs team. This role will focus on rights tracking and organizing deals negotiated by the Music BA team, including those for composers, music supervisors, original songs, and soundtrack distribution. The position will involve managing internal tools and systems (like Airtable), identifying and implementing efficiency improvements, responding to ad-hoc rights queries, managing publishing registrations, coordinating payments, and performing general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of music industry deal-making, experience in production companies, studios, networks, record labels, or music publishers, the ability to handle high volumes of work with minimal guidance, and effective collaboration skills.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of industry experience.
  • 4+ years' work experience in a relevant role within the Music/Film/TV/Entertainment production industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with rights management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Box, Rightsline, Quip, and/or Airtable.
  • Knowledge of the music industry and production landscape, including labels, publishers, and other entertainment entities.

Responsibilities

  • Rights tracking and organization of music deals (composer, music supervisor, original songs, soundtrack distribution).
  • Manage internal tools and systems (e.g., Airtable) and identify/implement efficiency improvements, including AI efficiencies.
  • Respond to ad-hoc rights queries internally and externally.
  • Manage publishing registrations for original works as the point of contact for the publishing administration partner.
  • Coordinate payments for talent and other third parties cross-functionally.
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the team.
  • Attend internal meetings with Music BA, Creative, Coordinators, and Legal/OC for status and progress updates on music.
  • Ingest rights data into internal systems.
  • Review existing processes and systems to find ways to improve efficiencies.
  • Set up meetings and track next steps.
