About The Position

The Hamlin School is seeking experienced and enthusiastic music instructors for our afterschool Music Academy. This vibrant program serves over 100 students in grades 1–8, offering one-on-one lessons in piano, guitar, violin, voice, drums, and more. Lessons are held on campus and are scheduled in 30-, 45-, or 60-minute blocks. The School handles all student registration and billing logistics. Music Academy instructors play an important role in nurturing students’ musical growth, self-confidence, and creativity. Instructors are expected to foster a supportive learning environment that emphasizes joy, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Requirements

• Prior experience with private music instruction for elementary and middle school students
• Passion for music education and ability to build rapport with individual students
• Strong punctuality, time management and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Clear the Department of Justice background screening (Livescan)
• Authorized to work in the United States (I-9)
• Provide health (TB) clearance (update every 4 years)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in music or a related field
