About The Position

The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Museum Education and Public Programs Coordinator. The position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday with regular weekend work on both Saturdays and Sundays, never more than every other weekend. Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler. The Chandler Museum is a cultural destination unlike any other with engaging, community-focused programs and forums, as well as world-class traveling exhibits. The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department showcases destination drivers in Chandler through the Chandler Center for the Arts, Chandler Museum, Downtown, Public Art, Special Events, Connection and Impact, and Vision Gallery. Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are seeking an experienced education leader to create and oversee inclusive, engaging learning opportunities for children, families, adults, and school groups while ensuring program excellence through staff development and data-driven evaluation.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Museum Studies, Social Science, Public History or related field
  • 3 years of experience in education and programming within a museum setting
  • A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
