About The Position

Fonroche Lighting America is seeking a Municipal Sales Representative to drive sales growth by developing direct relationships with municipalities and decision-makers responsible for street, park, trail, and parking lot lighting. This role involves acting as a trusted advisor, market developer, and relationship builder to help cities transition to off-grid, solar-powered lighting solutions. The position is based in the Coppell, TX sales and engineering office, requiring close collaboration with internal teams and technical staff. The ideal candidate is a dynamic business development leader who thrives on innovation, relationship-building, and driving industry change.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in business development, consultative sales, or municipal sales.
  • Exceptional communication skills: Ability to engage, present, and negotiate with government officials, partners, and contractors.
  • Strategic thinking and market development skills: Ability to assess market trends and drive standardization efforts across regions.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, email, and standard business systems for reporting and forecasting.
  • Self-starter with strong listening and sales skills who thrives on achieving targets.
  • Ability to travel regularly to meet with customers and develop the region effectively.
  • Must be based in our Coppell, TX office when not traveling for client meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a pipeline of projects, closing deals that drive regional expansion.
  • Lead municipal sales efforts, positioning Fonroche as the go-to solution for solar lighting adoption.
  • Serve as the primary contact for municipalities, ensuring long-term engagement and repeat business.
  • Explore new sales and market development strategies to accelerate growth.
  • Become proficient in solar lighting principles and present the technical and cost-saving benefits to clients.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and collaboration within CRM tools.
  • Regularly meet with municipal leaders in person to build strong, trust-based partnerships.
