RBCCM’s Municipal Finance Department offers investment banking solutions to a wide range of public sector entities, including states, cities, universities, nonprofits, utilities, hospitals, and housing authorities. We are a top 5 underwriter of municipal debt and serve major clients in the industry. The Summer Analyst Program invites high-performing rising seniors for a 10-week program to gain a realistic view of municipal finance by working on various transactions and development initiatives. Analysts will build foundational skills in financial problem-solving, negotiation, and execution, while also gaining experience in marketing the firm’s products and services.
Requirements
- Undergraduate students entering their final year of study at an accredited four-year college or university, graduating in Spring 2028 or December 2027.
- Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting preferred.
- Familiarity with computer applications such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Responsibilities
- Provides analytical, research, and transactional support to investment bankers in all departmental work activities relating to the structuring and issuance of municipal bonds, and/or related financial advisory services.
- Prepares cash flow projections and related financial analyses for potential and actual capital markets transactions.
- Gathers, organizes, and analyzes information necessary to prepare proposals, client presentations, offering statements, and marketing materials.
- Assists in the preparation of proposals for prospective clients, describing in detail financing alternatives, originating, structuring, and marketing an issue, and our ability to perform the underwriting functions capably.
- Enhances the department’s use and knowledge of available information pertaining to the municipal capital markets by collecting, organizing, and maintaining various marketing materials and information resources.
- Coordinates the various activities, both internal and external, relating to pricing and settlement of debt transactions.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
