The Construction Inspector serves as the Inspector for Municipal government projects and for private sector clients, with both technical and field responsibilities. The role involves implementing standards, collecting inspection data, monitoring projects for compliance with drawings and specifications (addressing infrastructure like roads, parking areas, culverts, stormwater management facilities, and water and sewage systems), and acting as a quality assurance representative at construction sites. The inspector will also review plans for constructability, provide recommendations on escrow releases, review as-built drawings, and perform inspections for complaints or client concerns, offering construction recommendations. A key aspect is acting professionally when interacting with residents regarding project concerns. The Construction Inspector is also the primary point of contact with clients or contractors, meeting with officials and contractor representatives, serving as a liaison between engineers and contractors, identifying new business opportunities, overseeing project requests, and preparing/delivering inspection reports.
