Multiskilled Facilities Engineer II: Irvine Engineering
About The Position
The Multiskilled Facilities Engineer II is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all areas in the hospital. This role requires timely response to work orders, emergencies, and scheduled maintenance, adhering to Hoag standards in a safe and orderly process. The engineer will foster a work environment that promotes continuous improvement of engineering functions and actively function as a team member, demonstrating commitment to quality of service. The role involves working with life safety systems (fire alarm, FM-200, nurse call, methane detection, water detection, intercom, antenna, security systems, medical gas), monitoring cooling, heating, and ventilation areas using building management systems, and performing basic repairs to lighting systems. Additionally, the engineer will install new framing, corner protection, door assemblies, tape, finish drywall, and refinish casework. Preventative maintenance will be performed on HVAC, Electrical, and low voltage equipment, including fire alarm, nurse call, methane detection, water detection, intercom, antenna, safety, and security systems. The role also includes locksmith responsibilities such as duplicating keys and installing, repairing, and replacing door locks, padlocks, desk locks, and cabinet locks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of Four (4) years of experience in building maintenance and repair, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, lighting, building trades and painting work
- Knowledge of body mechanics, safety measures and infection control
- Ability to follow instructions
- Must have strong knowledge of Hoag’s computer software (i.e. Kronos, Service Now, Lawson, Swiss Log and Building Management systems)
- Maintains strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, lighting, pneumatic tube system, food service equipment
- Current CA driver’s license required for local travel
