About The Position

KHON2, KHII and Hawaii's CW are home to Hawaii's #1 local news and produce beloved local programs. In addition to our broadcast platforms, we offer KHON2.com, KHON+ streaming/CTV, and advanced digital marketing solutions, providing advertisers with multiplatform reach across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social. We are seeking a driven, relationship-minded sales professional to help local businesses grow by leveraging our broadcast and digital portfolio and the trust our brand has earned over 70+ years. The Multiplatform Sales Account Executive generates advertising revenue by building relationships with established agencies, cold-calling new prospects, and educating clients on how broadcast, digital, streaming, and integrated marketing solutions can foster business growth. You will collaborate with local sales management to develop customized, results-driven campaigns across all platforms, with ongoing professional development support. This is primarily a sales role. Additionally, individuals comfortable on camera have the opportunity to host sponsored-content segments for broadcast and create branded content for social, digital, and our KHON+ CTV app on Living808, our premier lifestyle program. This offers a unique advantage for sellers, allowing them to bring clients' stories to life and create opportunities beyond standard pitches. We seek candidates with a positive, can-do attitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to build win-win client partnerships.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred — ideally a Bachelor's in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • A strong understanding of media in all forms (broadcast, digital, streaming, social) is required.
  • Experience in in-person, one-on-one sales is required; media sales experience is a plus but not required.
  • Comfort appearing on camera is a plus but not required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrated ability to set long-range objectives and execute the strategies to achieve them.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A positive, collaborative personality that thrives in a team setting.
  • Comfort with standard office technology and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior media sales experience is a plus but not required.
  • Comfort on camera is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals across broadcast, digital, streaming, and CTV platforms.
  • Establishes credible client partnerships within the local business community.
  • Makes in-person and virtual sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
  • Maintains assigned accounts and develops new business.
  • Prepares and delivers compelling, customized sales presentations.
  • Educates customers on how broadcast, digital, and streaming advertising solutions can most effectively promote their products and services.
  • Provides clients with rate and placement information across all media platforms.
  • Develops advertising schedules and campaigns in partnership with clients and station personnel.
  • Collaborates with clients and station teams to produce effective commercials and digital creative.
  • As a plus: hosts sponsored lifestyle segments on Living808 and creates branded content for social, digital, and the KHON+ CTV app in support of sales efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
