About The Position

The City of Carmel is seeking a creative and driven Multimedia Specialist to create compelling photo, video, and digital content that informs, engages, and inspires residents. This role involves capturing stories from community events, public meetings, City initiatives, and emergency communications for various platforms including the City's website, social media, cable channel, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about visual storytelling and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Multimedia Communications, Digital Media, Film Production, or a related field.
• Two (2) or more years of professional experience in multimedia production, videography, photography, or digital communications.
• Experience with professional video editing, photography, lighting, audio, and digital content creation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with livestreaming, broadcast production, or Cablecast/Tightrope systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce, film, edit, and publish professional video and photography for the City's website, social media, cable channel, and digital platforms.
• Capture community events, public meetings, and City initiatives through engaging visual storytelling.
• Collaborate with the Marketing & Community Relations team to develop creative campaigns and multimedia content.
• Assist with livestreams, public information, and communications during City events and emergency situations.
• Ensure all content reflects the City's brand standards, accessibility requirements, and public records regulations.
• Stay current with emerging multimedia technology and industry best practices.
