Multimedia Manager

Milestone Retirement CommunitiesVancouver, WA
Hybrid

About The Position

The Multimedia Manager owns the visual and content production layer of Milestone Retirement’s Marketing department. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role photographs and films the full portfolio of communities, produces social and digital content, and manages distribution across owned and local channels — turning authentic resident life into stories that drive occupancy, referral relationships, and brand reputation for both individual communities and the corporate brand. This is a hands-on, high-impact production role. The Multimedia Manager works from a dedicated multimedia office with professional photography, video, and 3D capture equipment, holds a clear creative mandate, and has direct, measurable influence on lead volume, tour conversion, and census growth across the organization. The role balances creative craft with operational discipline: shoots are planned around community operations, assets are organized so any community or regional leader can find and use them, and every piece of content is captured and published within Milestone's consent, privacy, and brand standards. The Multimedia Manager exemplifies Milestone's three core values — Compassion, Innovation, and Accountability — in every interaction with residents, families, Team Members, vendors, and prospective residents. Working in occupied senior living communities requires a person who earns trust before raising a camera, honors dignity and privacy without exception, and treats residents as people first and subjects second.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of professional experience in multimedia production, content creation, or multi-location brand marketing required; bachelor's degree in film, photography, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating lifestyle, environmental, and people photography, plus produced video work.
  • Demonstrated video production capability including shooting, editing, audio, and color grading in Premiere Pro or equivalent.
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency, including Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop; After Effects and Audition capability preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing organic social content across multiple accounts or locations; experience with SOCi or a comparable multi-location social platform strongly preferred.
  • Experience creating Matterport or comparable 3D/LiDAR virtual tours and floorplans preferred; Milestone will provide training and certification for an otherwise qualified candidate.
  • Must be able and willing to travel regularly to community locations, hold a valid driver's license, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or multi-location service brand experience strongly preferred; genuine interest in working with older adults required.
  • Visual Storytelling: able to plan and execute a shoot that serves a defined marketing objective, and to produce authentic imagery of real people in real environments rather than staged scenes.
  • People Skills & Presence: earns trust quickly with residents, families, and Team Members; directs with patience; knows when to lower the camera.
  • Privacy & Consent Judgment: understands and honors consent, dignity, HIPAA-adjacent privacy expectations, and the sensitivity of memory care environments without needing to be reminded.
  • Project & Asset Discipline: manages a multi-community production calendar, travel schedule, and asset library independently, and delivers on committed dates.
  • Analytical Application: reads content performance data, draws honest conclusions, and adjusts content strategy toward what drives inquiry and occupancy.
  • Brand Stewardship: protects and applies Milestone's visual identity consistently across corporate and community channels.
  • Collaboration & Communication: partners effectively with community and regional leaders, communicates plans clearly in advance, and represents Marketing well on site.
  • Professional camera bodies and lenses, lighting, audio, gimbal; Adobe Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition
  • Matterport LiDAR capture, 3D tours, and floorplan generation
  • SOCi (multi-location publishing, engagement, and reporting); community and corporate social channels
  • Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint; brand template libraries
  • Canva and Adobe design tools for collateral, social graphics, and templates
  • Community website content management, gallery and virtual tour publishing, analytics and performance reporting

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and execute all photography, video, and 3D capture across the Milestone portfolio, coordinating directly with community leadership on timing and access.
  • Set and enforce visual brand standards for photography, video, and social content, including approval authority over imagery submitted by communities for use on Milestone-controlled channels.
  • Own and administer the brand and media asset library, including naming conventions, permissions, retention, and archival.
  • Publish and schedule content across community and corporate social channels within approved messaging strategy, and to hold or remove any asset that does not meet consent, privacy, or brand standards.
  • Direct freelance photographers, videographers, editors, and production vendors on assigned projects, and recommend vendor selection and budget to the Director of Marketing.
  • Escalate consent, privacy, resident dignity, reputational, or regulatory concerns to the Director of Marketing immediately, and to withhold publication until the concern is resolved.
  • Plan and execute photography at Milestone communities including lifestyle, environmental, culinary, resident and family, event, life enrichment, and Team Member headshot work.
  • Build shot lists in advance with the Director of Marketing, National Director of Resident Transitions & Marketing, and Executive Director so each shoot supports a defined marketing need — website refresh, campaign, collateral, or lease-up.
  • Direct residents and Team Members with patience and warmth to produce natural, authentic images rather than staged stock-style scenes.
  • Verify a signed media release is on file for every identifiable resident, family member, and Team Member before any image is captured or published.
  • Deliver edited, color-corrected, correctly sized, and properly named final assets within committed turnaround timelines.
  • Produce video content including resident and family testimonials, Team Member spotlights, short-form social video, community tours, event recaps, and educational and thought-leadership pieces.
  • Own the full production process: concept, pre-production planning, scheduling, lighting, audio, shooting, editing, color, graphics, captioning, and final delivery.
  • Capture clean audio in occupied, active community environments and edit for accessibility, including accurate captions on all social video.
  • Maintain and care for camera, lens, lighting, audio, gimbal, drone (where permitted and licensed), and 3D capture equipment; recommend equipment purchases and replacement.
  • Support messaging strategy and own publishing of social content across all community and corporate channels through SOCi.
  • Maintain a portfolio-wide content calendar that balances corporate brand priorities with individual community needs, seasonal programming, and lease-up or census-recovery pushes.
  • Coach community leaders and Life Enrichment Team Members on capturing usable everyday moments between professional visits, including simple phone-capture standards.
  • Monitor comments, reviews, and messages in partnership with the Director of Marketing; route resident-care, family-concern, or reputational issues to the Executive Director and Regional leadership immediately and never respond to a care concern publicly.
  • Contribute to web page content, community pages, blog articles, thought leadership, and referral partner materials.
  • Refresh community website galleries and virtual tours on a defined cycle so online presentation reflects the community as it is today.
  • Support search visibility through accurate image naming, alt text, metadata, and current community information.
  • Build and maintain organized brand and media asset libraries in SharePoint with consistent folder structure, naming conventions, and permissions so every community and regional partner can self-serve approved assets.
  • Maintain the media release and consent log, matched to assets, and remove or restrict any asset when consent is withdrawn or a resident moves out and consent terms require it.
  • Maintain brand templates, logo files, color and typography standards, and usage guidance; act as the practical steward of visual brand consistency across the portfolio.
  • Manage asset retention, versioning, and archival so the library stays current and usable rather than accumulating unusable volume.
  • Create Matterport LiDAR 3D tours and floorplans for communities, model apartments, and available units, and publish them to community websites and sales channels.
  • Keep tours and floorplans current as apartments turn, models change, and renovations complete.
  • Train Sales Team Members on using 3D tours and floorplans in the inquiry, tour, and follow-up process.
  • Coordinate shoot schedules with on-site teams well in advance, respecting dining, care, medication, and programming schedules so production never disrupts resident care or routine.
  • Arrive prepared and self-sufficient; leave communities exactly as found, with equipment, cabling, and staging fully cleared.
  • Build genuine relationships with Executive Directors, Sales Directors, Life Enrichment Directors, and Team Members so authentic stories are surfaced rather than manufactured.
  • Travel regularly to community locations across the portfolio, with all travel expenses covered by Milestone.
  • Track content performance — reach, engagement, video completion, website and gallery traffic, tour requests, and lead source attribution — and report results monthly.
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly marketing reporting with clear, honest analysis of what content is driving inquiry and tour volume and what is not.
  • Recommend and act on shifts in content mix, format, platform, and community focus based on performance and occupancy need.
  • Maintain a production pipeline view so the Director of Marketing and regional partners always know what is shot, in edit, approved, and published.
