The Multimedia Journalist Reporter produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers. This role involves reporting news stories for broadcast, arranging interviews, reviewing copy for errors, and evaluating notes to isolate pertinent facts. The journalist determines a story’s emphasis, length, and format, and organizes material accordingly. They gather information through research, interviews, experience, or attendance at various functions. Story ideas are pitched to news managers and producers, and leads and tips are evaluated. The journalist also checks reference materials to obtain relevant facts and revises work to meet editorial approval or fit time requirements. Additionally, they shoot and edit news events and reports, create vertical story videos for social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, and produce unique content for CTV, Social, and FAST Channels. Ensuring all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality is crucial. The role also includes writing stories for the web and other eMedia platforms, interacting with viewers on social media, and performing special projects as assigned.
