About The Position

The Multimedia Journalist is responsible for shooting, writing, and editing news stories on a daily basis for the station’s newscasts, recorded programs, and other live broadcasts, either in the studio or on location. The journalist works directly with News Producers on story ideas and development, and presents accurate, journalistically sound, fair, and balanced stories. The position reports live during newscasts and breaking news as needed, conducts and records interviews, develops ongoing sweeps and special-series stories, and represents Telemundo at community events. Building relationships with community members and contacts to develop story leads is also part of the role. The position is based in Orlando and may require travel to surrounding areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism or a related field.
• At least two years of reporting, shooting, writing, and video-editing experience.
• Excellent writing and communication skills in Spanish; complete fluency in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish.
• Enterprise reporting experience.
• Live reporting experience.
• Strong English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Must be willing to work in Orlando and travel to surrounding areas as needed.
• Must be willing to work long hours and varying shifts, including nights and weekends, and report to work in emergencies depending on news coverage.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must accept NBCUniversal’s Solutions dispute resolution program.
