KLTV is seeking a talented Multimedia Journalist/Reporter who is a self-starter with good news judgment to work from their Longview, TX Bureau. This role involves gathering and verifying information for news reports, investigating leads, pitching stories, and producing content for broadcast and digital platforms. Requirements
- A journalism degree or similar is preferred.
- Professional video camera knowledge.
- Professional non-linear editing knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Gather & verify information in the production of news reports.
- Investigate leads.
- Pitch stories to managers daily for the next day's assignment.
- Shoot & edit material for broadcast and digital products on all platforms.
- Write material for broadcast and digital products on all platforms.
- Produce material for broadcast and digital products on all platforms.
- Report material for broadcast and digital products on all platforms.
- Report live, online, and on air.
- Report on digital platforms, often live via FaceTime or Skype.
- Shoot stories.
- Pitch and research news stories.
- Set up news stories.
- Edit stories.
- Write stories.
- Post stories online.
- Utilize computer skills.
- Lift/carry/manage news photography equipment.
- Work outdoors.
- Work weekends, holidays, and evenings as necessary.
