Univision Texas Central is seeking a motivated, competitive, news-focused Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) and Producer to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative newsroom serving Hispanic communities. This hybrid role combines newscast production with original story development and independent field reporting. The person in this role may also serve as an on-camera journalist, delivering live and pre-recorded reports and covering breaking news for broadcast and digital platforms. They must be able to shift between producing behind the scenes and reporting on camera as newsroom needs change. The newsroom values ownership, accountability, collaboration, curiosity, initiative, open communication, receptiveness to feedback, and a solutions-oriented approach. Producers are expected to participate actively in identifying stories, developing sources, verifying information, advancing coverage, and responding to breaking news. The role calls for strong editorial instincts, adaptability, and a team-first commitment to collective newsroom success. The position produces news content for broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms; develops stories relevant to audiences in San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding communities; and supports assignment desk, production, and field reporting responsibilities as priorities require. Field reporting may be performed independently, including without an assigned photographer or additional reporting support. The position requires proficiency in Spanish and the ability to communicate and research effectively in English, as well as schedule flexibility that may include early mornings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Local travel and work in indoor and outdoor environments may be required. The role may involve operating and transporting news-gathering equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
