Actual compensation may vary and may be above the posted range based on factors such as a candidate's skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location. What your job will be like: Responsible for assisting the Multimedia Photo and Video Specialist in a variety of photography and videography needs. More emphasis will focus on day-to-day people and event photography, post-processing/editing, metadata creation, and historical archiving. Promote a Department of Energy national lab while also contributing to the preservation of its history.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Full-time college student majoring in Communications, Photography, Videography, or other visual multimedia areas with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Wide range of media, including photography and post-production editing.
  • Understanding of manual camera settings, lighting subjects, and/or studio setups.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Outstanding oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team with others, including printers, copywriters, photographers, other designers, account executives, website designers and/or market specialists.
  • Writing and copyediting skills, AP style.
  • Knowledge of other photography/videography software, such as Photo Mechanic, Final Cut Pro.

  • Professional experience and customer service skills working alongside VIP guests including politicians, high leadership positions, stakeholders, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Photograph, post-process/edit, and archive various visual themes and subjects at Jefferson Lab for use in publications, scientific research presentations, websites, social media, and internal and external communication needs.
  • Create extensive metadata for all images for historical archiving purposes.
  • Use, or to be trained in Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Creative Suite, Photo Mechanic, and Final Cut Pro.
