About The Position

Reporting to the Communications and Economic Development Officer, this position is responsible for the creation of high-quality digital and print communications materials that highlight the Township’s services, local businesses, and community spirit. This is a highly creative role that balances office-based design with active field work across the municipality. The successful candidate will build a comprehensive municipal photo and video "stockpile," design new promotional brochures, and support economic development by modernizing the municipal Business Directory.

Requirements

Must be a full-time student in the past academic year and returning to full-time studies in the fall of 2026.
Advanced skills in photo/video editing (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro, or mobile equivalents) and graphic design (Canva/Adobe).
Access to personal photography/video equipment (DSLR or high-end mobile kit) is required.
Demonstrated ability to pitch original content ideas and work independently in the field/outdoors.
Strong writing skills for drafting guides and social media content; ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
A valid Ontario driver’s license (Class G or G2) and access to a reliable vehicle is required.

Candidates selected for the interview will be asked to provide a portfolio (samples of creative work)

Responsibilities

Capture, edit, and organize high-resolution photography and video content of Township assets and events.
Design professional templates (Canva/Adobe Creative Suite) and print brochures for various departments.
Conduct community outreach to verify and update the municipal Business Directory.
Develop "How-to" documentation and training materials for staff to ensure project continuity.
Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
