About The Position

Conceptualize and implement high-impact creative assets that can be used across digital, print, social, video and other platforms following ASHRAE's established brand guidelines. Multitasks and works with various departments throughout the organization to ensure all collateral adheres to the same established brand guidelines while driving global engagement and visually furthering ASHRAE's mission. Possess ability to provide and receive creative direction as needed to achieve top-quality, engaging materials and maintain ASHRAE's brand integrity. The Multimedia Designer is the gatekeeper of ASHRAE's visual brand and ensures consistency across all print, digital and multimedia communications for ASHRAE.

Requirements

  • College degree required.
  • Three to five years of experience with graphic design in a professional setting at minimum.
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to create error-free projects and independently self-proof work.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm; ability to conceptualize and implement engaging designs based on platform.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Proficiency in Canva.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in PC environment.
  • Ability to stay up to date on latest trends and requirements in designing materials for various platforms, especially regarding social media and video content, to ensure ASHRAE's creative assets are timely, engaging and optimized across platforms to drive audience reach and interest.
  • Technology-forward; relevant experience with programs such as content management systems, customer/association management systems, email service providers, databases, analytics & reporting software helpful.
  • Written and verbal communication skills as needed to work with multiple internal departments.
  • Ability to take initiative while also being an effective team member able to take direction and communicate both concerns and progress towards goal achievement to immediate supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Create print-ready digital files for a variety of printed materials including but not limited to trade show panels, magazines, brochures, banners, flyers, applications and more. As needed, share digital files with vendors.
  • Create digital files (ex: .gif, .png, .mp4, .pdf, .jpg) for use on ashrae.org, other websites, social media, emails, screens, mobile apps, and more.
  • Conceptualize, create and/or or edit video files ranging from social shorts, editing recordings, to longer-form video to be shared through various channels for example, online, through social media or to live audiences at ASHRAE Conferences, or through other mechanisms.
  • Keep graphic design collateral organized on the ASHRAE internal network so final and working files are clearly evident and version control is maintained.
  • Serve as resource for staff, ASHRAE members, and interested public seeking guidance on design best practices or usage of ASHRAE's brand assets, including fulfilling requests to use the ASHRAE logo/brand assets.
  • Maintain stock image and stock video footage accounts. Following established process, serve as main point of contact with external video producer(s) as needed on videos requiring external production.
  • Maintain Canva account, Team and assets within.
  • Maintain staff access photo directory on ASHRAE's internal network and process photos for use including cataloging, resizing, retouching and preparing for specific use cases. Ensure photos requested for use by staff are high-quality and edited as needed.
  • As needed, take photographs of people, groups, merchandise or events taking place at ASHRAE Headquarters.
  • As needed, work with other members of the Marketing team to update, maintain, and create communications through ASHRAE's main communications channels including the ashrae.org website, social media channels, ASHRAE 365 (the Society mobile app) and marketing emails.
  • Along with Digital Marketing Specialist, update and maintain ashrae.org and create landing pages using a CMS consistent with current best practices for websites and within the ASHRAE brand.
  • Other duties as assigned based on section and departmental needs, including potential travel to domestic and international tradeshows, ASHRAE winter or annual conferences, or other ASHRAE events, and backing up other team members as needed.
