Responsibilities include technical leadership, designing and developing multimedia applications, user-driven templates, programming within learning management systems (LMS), quality assurance, application deployment, and creating interfaces for ease of use. The position requires in-depth knowledge of authoring software like Articulate 360 suite, Adobe Creative Cloud programs, and Vyond, as well as experience with XML, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, and xAPI. The analyst will generate new code and modify existing code, and be familiar with legacy eLearning technologies to update older course materials. They will stay current on educational technology, evaluate courseware development tools, and make recommendations to the department. The role involves developing within software tools, providing programming assistance for online education materials, creating innovative educational solutions, and providing art direction for courses, websites, and print materials. This includes coordinating photographers and videographers and proficiency in video editing tools like Adobe Premiere. Strong graphic design skills with attention to visual design are essential for creating engaging graphics and simulations using multiple media types. The position requires an excellent understanding of web and video publishing production and multimedia use on the web, along with strong organizational skills for multimedia content management and overseeing content production for website sections. The individual is expected to collaborate effectively with colleagues and interact with various personnel, demonstrating self-direction within a team environment. Full cycle support in the selection, design, and application of resources is required. This position is a combination of remote and on-site work, requiring the individual to live within a 100-mile driving distance to a Mayo Clinic campus in Jacksonville, Phoenix, or Rochester. Visa sponsorship is not available, and Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science plus 3-5 years of related experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Independent problem-solving and analytical skills, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize work in a constantly changing environment required.
  • Strong human relations, communication, time management and organizational skills are needed.
  • Must be highly proficient in using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and ImageReady as well as other related tools in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

Nice To Haves

  • A minor in graphic design, illustration or related field is preferred.
  • Desired technical skills include knowledge of video and animation software, courseware applications such as Articulate 360 Suite, Adobe Captivate, Dreamweaver or other similar software.
  • Strong video editing and video production, including recording skills are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides interactive multimedia programming development, animation, video production, art direction and graphic production.
  • Includes technical leadership, design and develop of multimedia applications, user-driven templates, programming within the learning management systems (LMS), quality assurance plan development and participation, application deployment and interfaces for ease of use.
  • Provides in-depth knowledge of existing education authoring software including Articulate 360 suite, Adobe Creative Cloud programs, Vyond (or other video animation/motion graphics tools).
  • Experience programming with XML, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS and xAPI.
  • Generates new code and corrects, converts, and/or modifies existing code to meet specifications.
  • Familiar with legacy eLearning technologies (i.e. Adobe Flash) in order to update older course materials.
  • Keeps current on educational technology infrastructure and performs evaluations of courseware development tools to maintain efficient development of quality courseware and make recommendations to the department for staying current with the changes in the industry.
  • Develops within software tools for unit as needed.
  • Provides programming assistance to support and develop online, interactive education materials for the institution.
  • Creates innovative educational solutions to solve customer needs.
  • Provides art direction for courses, departmental web sites and print materials.
  • Coordinates and directs photographers and videographers and is proficient in video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere.
  • Proven graphic design skills with strong attention to visual design.
  • Creates engaging graphics and simulations using multiple media types, such as animations, text, and sound.
  • Excellent understanding of web and video publishing production and the use of multimedia on the web.
  • Utilizes strong organizational skills to perform a wide variety of multimedia content management duties.
  • Designs and oversees all content production for specified sections of web sites.
  • Participates in a collaborative and productive manner with colleagues and interacts with a variety of personnel.
  • Is self-directed and works in a team environment.
  • Provides full cycle support in the selection, design, and application of resources to satisfy requirements.
