About The Position
The Multilingual Teacher at Washington Connections Academy supports English learners’ academic and language development through targeted instruction and collaboration with general education staff. The role helps students develop English proficiency while accessing core content and meeting state standards. Washington Connections Academy is a tuition-free, statewide virtual public school serving students in grades K–12. The school operates through partnerships with the Mary M. Knight and Goldendale school districts and is under contract with Connections Academy to provide its educational program and other services. Both schools under WACA are accredited by Cognia and were recognized as Cognia Schools of Distinction in 2022. The stated salary is $44,500 per year, based on experience and education.
Requirements
- Valid teaching certificate with an appropriate ESL, ELL, or bilingual endorsement, as required by Washington state.
- Washington state residency.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct English language development (ELD) instruction aligned with students’ language proficiency levels.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to help English learners access grade-level curriculum.
- Monitor and document students’ language development progress.
- Communicate regularly with families using appropriate language supports.
- Participate in English learner identification, placement, and reclassification processes.
