Multilingual Data Annotation Specialist, Hindi

Zefr•Marina del Rey, CA
•Hybrid

About The Position

Zefr is hiring a Multilingual Data Annotation Specialist to label video, image, and metadata content across YouTube, TikTok, Meta, and Snap. The role applies cultural and linguistic context to content decisions that automated models may not make accurately on their own. Labels serve as ground truth for training and evaluating machine-learning systems, and the specialist helps identify when guidelines need to be clarified or updated. The position is suited to someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, asks questions rather than guessing, and values precision. It also offers the opportunity to build an understanding of machine learning and computer vision and how annotation quality affects model performance. The role is hybrid, with work at Zefr’s Marina del Rey office 2–3 days per week, and involves regular exposure to sensitive content, including political and religious material, violence, and adult content.

Requirements

  • Oral, written, and cultural fluency in Hindi and English.
  • Strong cultural fluency and an understanding of context across varied content types.
  • Regular use of TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, with native familiarity with the platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, sustained across repetitive work.
  • Clear written communication, especially when explaining ambiguity, inconsistency, or definitional drift.
  • Comfort applying style guides and maintaining consistency across formats.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Comfort reviewing sensitive content, including political topics, religious perspectives, violence, and adult material.
  • Reliability and coachability, with the ability to take feedback and apply it quickly.
  • Analytical approach and structured problem-solving instincts.
  • Ability to remain steady in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Effectiveness both independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential and proprietary information.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, 2–3 days per week in the Marina del Rey office.
