About The Position

EDvance College is seeking a Multilingual Admissions Coordinator to join their team. This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for guiding prospective early childhood educators through the admissions process, from initial inquiry to enrollment. The role involves providing advising, mentorship, and support to ensure equitable access and success for applicants. The coordinator will work with a flexible schedule to meet the needs of working professionals and foster a sense of community belonging. As EDvance College grows, this role is crucial in building stronger systems and expanding reach while maintaining a student-centered approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in admission or advising-related roles.
  • Experience in community or student-facing admissions processes.
  • Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin and/or Spanish.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in data management and computer applications.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in education.
  • Ability to tolerate change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn, adopt, and grow your skill set using generative AI tools, preferably Google products such as Gemini and NotebookLM.

  • Experience in higher education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students, providing clear, encouraging guidance throughout the admissions process.
  • Proactively follow up with an energetic, all-in attitude to ensure completed applications, including employment verification, transcripts, and language assessments.
  • Responsively address inquiries via phone and email to working professionals across California.
  • Meet individually with applicants, providing warm, welcoming advising and direct, honest conversations to assess needs, analyze transcripts, and outline prospective degree pathways.
  • Track application statuses in the database with precision, ensuring accurate records to support seamless lead conversion from applicant to enrolled student.
  • Guide prospective students through the enrollment process, offering encouraging mentorship and addressing barriers to foster a sense of community belonging.
  • Support preliminary assessment of academic and technology readiness and recommend next steps when appropriate.
  • Lead the conversion process with enthusiasm, meeting annual enrollment goals through proactive, transparent communication.
  • Drive enrollment growth by converting prospective student applicants into enrolled students through proactive outreach, personalized advising, and consistent follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for decision-making and program evaluation.
  • Support the EDvance Technology programs by mentoring incoming students, nurturing patience to master key tech tools (e.g., Canvas, Zoom), helping them build confidence, prepare for academic success, and boosting performance for those who need extra guidance.
  • Provide follow-up advising to enrolled students who require additional support, using passionate encouragement to build a sense of belonging among historically marginalized groups.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends, to meet students and host support sessions, ensuring accessibility for full-time educators.
  • Model equitable practices in all interactions, fostering inclusion through real, supportive dialogue.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
