•$50,460 - $187,093

About The Position

NSA Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs) use foreign-language skills to support the agency’s Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) mission. They take an inclusive approach to problem-solving and mission accomplishment, frequently engaging with partners, enablers, and customers across the Intelligence Community. Depending on skill level and experience, candidates may enter the Language Analysis Development Program (LADP) or be hired directly into a position supporting an analytic mission office. The LADP lasts up to three years and provides an intensive, accelerated opportunity to develop technical skills and experience for applying knowledge and analytic ability to the SIGINT mission. It includes four to five operational tours in a variety of offices, interspersed with classroom and computer-based training. Operational tours primarily involve analyzing foreign-language materials in SIGINT reporting and SIGINT development. The program does not teach a foreign language. MDLAs analyze, transcribe, and translate information; research cultures and geopolitical context; apply techniques and creative solutions to analytic problems; understand communications and technology trends; and produce written and oral assessments. They work independently and collaborate with NSA analysts and other members of the Intelligence Community. Candidates must identify only languages in which they are proficient. A minimum ILR proficiency level of 2/2 in reading and listening is required in the target language. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with a basic eight-hour daily work requirement scheduled flexibly between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Training is provided according to the selectee’s needs and experience.
