About The Position

Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and executing timely repairs. This role supports production uptime by proactively identifying and resolving equipment problems, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and collaborating with operations teams to optimize machinery performance while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED and completion of skilled trade certificate program, or mechanic certificate or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
4 plus years of manufacturing experience; mechanical and industrial skills.
Ability to read and comprehend drawings, blueprints and schematics.
Basic skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, piping, welding, and building maintenance required.
Electrical and Welding certification required.
Must be able to operate a forklift.

Nice To Haves

PLC and HVAC experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and others measuring instruments.
Controls downtime by ensuring routine preventive maintenance techniques are accomplished.
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Communicate with operators daily on shift to ensure machinery is running properly.
Clean and maintain work areas in maintenance shop and around plant equipment after completing work.
Respond to emergency maintenance request as required.
Follow all plant rules and safety rules and regulations.
Order parts for machinery for w/o’s on equipment needing repair.
Other duties as assigned.
