About The Position

A leading UK and Ireland manufacturer is recruiting a Maintenance Technician for its Highlands site. The business has more than a century behind it, has just grown again through acquisition, and keeps investing in its people and its plant. This is a permanent position with real stability, and a real chance to be part of something that is growing. You will keep the plant safe, reliable and running, with a healthy mix of planned work and fault finding. It is hands on, varied and it matters.

Requirements

• A time served, dual trained electrical and mechanical engineer with industrial experience
• C&G or NVQ, 18th Edition or equivalent
• Experience with motor controls, plus temperature and pressure sensing and control systems
• Planned preventative maintenance experience
• Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read electrical drawings
• Working knowledge of bearings, belt drives, couplings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics
• A safety-first mindset and a good level of computer literacy

Responsibilities

• Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across the site
• Completing visual inspections, reporting findings and making repairs
• Diagnosing and repairing faults using electrical repair and test equipment
• Responding quickly to breakdowns and emergency call outs
• Running weekly, monthly and six-monthly planned maintenance checks
• Diagnosing PLC control level issues
• Carrying out root cause analysis and keeping accurate repair records
• Working closely with production to keep downtime to a minimum
