About The Position

Supervise an up-to-70,500-unit Nursery Farm and coordinate day-to-day farm activities and staff to ensure all daily and weekly production targets are met. Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures, develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods, providing constructive and timely feedback, and offering opportunities for individual growth. Perform audits of the farm to ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition. Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies on the farm. Ensure health and safety of employees and animals at the facility, submit detailed reports, and track feed and ration staging for animals. Manage all controllable cost, including supplies, labor, medication, etc. Create and manage employee work schedules. No hire/fire authority.

Requirements

  • Two years of related swine experience.
  • At least one year of management duties in a swine farm.
  • Experience following detailed standard operating procedures.
  • Experience training employees on day-to-day processes and developing a competent workforce.
  • Experience ensuring biosecurity protocols are followed.
  • Experience maintaining animal welfare and the environment.
  • Experience performing audits to ensure that standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies.
  • Experience creating and managing employee work schedules and conducting permanence evaluations.
  • Experience submitting orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs.
  • Experience writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Experience managing controllable facility costs.
  • Experience managing four or more animal caretakers for finishing multi-sites.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Daily travel is required to local farms.
