About The Position

Plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees multi-site plant manufacturing operations activities, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. Responsible for manufacturing and distribution departments by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure plants operate smoothly and are aligned to quality standards. Creates and executes strategies and policies for company growth.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Engineering-related discipline or a business-related area or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ manufacturing management experience supervising manufacturing employees.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of recent overall project management experience.
  • Knowledge of HazMat, ISO, Distribution and safety programs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables and summarize data from multiple sources
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and with the team with strong follow through
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) can be used in lieu of the educational requirements

Responsibilities

  • While overseeing plants, identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Ensure that plant decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements plant-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Ability to drive improvements in manufacturing costs.
  • Experience with physical design/layout for process efficiencies
  • Provide for the timely manufacture and distribution of products against customer orders.
  • Anticipates and tracks operational and tactical risks and provides strategic solutions.
  • Plays a significant role in long-term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes.
  • Maintain average workdays to manufacture and ship all published catalog items.
  • Maintain average workdays to manufacture and ship all custom manufactured items (RCC label).
  • Provide monthly responses to budget variance.
  • Provide for utilization planning by weekly reporting of the average Work-in-Process.
  • Perform physical inventories of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods.
  • Provide for an appropriate balance of inventory to meet performance and financial objectives.
  • Implement plant safety programs and ensure compliance with GMP.
  • Confirm that appropriate work instructions are developed and maintained and followed throughout the business.
  • Ensure that all ISO quality systems are followed.
  • Provide compliance to ISO quality systems (i.e. Corrective Action)
  • Oversees and reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics.
  • Identifies trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution.
  • Completes reasonability testing and information validation prior to circulating findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Solicits and responds to feedback while gaining commitment and support.
  • Stays up to date on industry regulations, trends, and technology.
  • Manage and supervise employees, resolve problems, and make recommendations for staffing and interviewing candidates for employment.
  • Responsible for annual personnel reviews.
  • Champions Functional Training Document (FTD) program through employee learning and development initiatives; standards of excellence & leader/employee accountability.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
