About The Position

The Multi-Site Director (MSD) is responsible for the operational leadership, staff support, and day-to-day effectiveness of multiple afterschool program sites. This role ensures strong program execution, regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and trusted school and family relationships across assigned sites. This role reflects IF’s next phase of growth, clarity, and accountability as we strengthen the systems, coaching, and leadership structures that support high-quality programming across multiple school communities. As IF continues to grow, the scope of assigned sites and Program Directors may evolve over time. The role is grounded in consistency, coaching, operational excellence, and strong cross-site leadership. The Multi-Site Director works in close partnership with the Senior Director of Programs & Quality, who holds overall accountability for program quality, curriculum, SEL integration, and instructional excellence.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience in youth development, education, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising staff or managing programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong people leader with the ability to provide clarity, structure, and support.
  • Deep understanding of program operations, safety standards, and team leadership.
  • Calm, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, leadership, coaching, and support to assigned Program Directors.
  • Ensure each site operates safely, smoothly, and in alignment with IF’s mission, values, and expectations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to observe operations, support staff, and reinforce consistency.
  • Serve as a steady leadership presence for Program Directors, modeling calm, clarity, and accountability.
  • Support Program Directors in supervising site-level staff including Assistant Directors, Instructors, Group Leaders, and interns.
  • Ensure all assigned sites meet SACC, DOE, and internal safety and compliance standards.
  • Review incident reports, staffing coverage, attendance patterns, and operational needs.
  • Identify risks, trends, or operational challenges and address them proactively.
  • Partner with Finance & Business Operations on staffing alignment, scheduling needs, and enrollment reconciliation.
  • Maintain consistent operational systems and practices across sites.
  • Lead the onboarding, ongoing supervision, professional development, and growth of Program Directors, ensuring they have the tools, training, feedback, and support needed to lead safe, high-quality, values-aligned programs.
  • Coach Program Directors on core leadership skills, including communication, problem-solving, staff supervision, family engagement, and decision-making.
  • Support Program Directors in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and corrective action in partnership with HR.
  • Reinforce expectations around professionalism, accountability, compassionate leadership, and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Promote reflective practice and continuous learning across sites.
  • Recognize and celebrate staff successes and positive program outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with principals, school administrators, and key school staff.
  • Serve as an escalation point for sensitive family or school concerns, supporting Program Directors in resolution.
  • Represent IF professionally and consistently within school communities.
  • Strengthen trust, communication, and collaboration with school partners.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improvement across assigned sites.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Programs & Quality to align operations with curriculum, SEL, and quality priorities.
  • Support implementation of new initiatives, process improvements, or organizational priorities.
  • Contribute insights from the field to inform program planning and decision-making.
  • Exercise sound judgment and leadership in the day-to-day oversight of assigned program sites, with a focus on consistency, safety, and staff support.
  • Operate in close partnership with the Senior Director of Programs & Quality.
  • Handle decisions collaboratively with senior leadership to ensure alignment, consistency, and risk management, including staffing changes, disciplinary actions, budget-related decisions, spending thresholds, and school-level escalations requiring executive involvement.
