About The Position

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Woodforest is seeking a motivated Multi-Site Business Office Coordinator to join our team. We have 3 OR rooms and 1 treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedics, Total Joints, Spine, Pain Management. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day. The Multi-Site Business Office Coordinator is responsible with the day-to-day operations of the business office, including AP AND AR. The BOC is also responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Registration, Insurance Verification and Medical Records.

Requirements

  • Day-to-day operations of the business office, including AP AND AR
  • Day-to-day supervision of Registration, Insurance Verification and Medical Records
  • Hiring, orientation, performance reviews and training of registration and medical records staff
  • Thorough working knowledge of accounts receivable system including maintenance of the managed care contracts
  • Reconciliation of cash receipts to the deposit log
  • Supervision of all medical records activities
  • Knowledgeable use and care of equipment
  • Development of the overall strategic plan of the business office
  • Development and maintenance of policies & procedures and systems to minimize DSO and the rate of bad debt and increase the productivity of related operations

Responsibilities

  • Knows, adheres to, and enforces all policies of the business office
  • Supervises business office employees and processes
  • Responsible for the hiring, orientation, performance reviews and training of registration and medical records staff
  • Responsible for thorough working knowledge of accounts receivable system including maintenance of the managed care contracts
  • Reconciles the cash receipts to the deposit log
  • Informs business office manager of applicable day-to-day situations
  • Supervise all medical records activities of the center in a manner consistent with the clinical needs of the center
  • Follows all equipment safety guidelines and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment
  • Partners with the administrator to develop the overall strategic plan of the business office
  • Develops and maintains policies & procedures and systems to minimize DSO and the rate of bad debt and increase the productivity of related operations
  • Perform other activities as requested by the administrator, and assume other appropriate operational responsibilities as necessary
